Arsenic Test

Arsenic in ground water can come from erosion of natural deposits, runoff from orchards, runoff from glass and electronics production wastes. Arsenic in well water is very common in southeastern Michigan. Arsenic can be found in gound water anywhere in southestern Michigan and is found at levels above the EPA's maximum contaminate level.

Choose a faucet that is a drinking water source inside the house without a pull out sprayer.  Also avoid a single lever faucet, as you want cold water sample only.  Remove the aerator (the small screen the water flows through) from the faucet.  Run the cold water for three to five minutes before proceeding. 

Return the samples as soon after sampling as possible.  To ensure the integraty of the sample and delivery within holding time we recomend hand delivering samples to the lab.  If you are returning samples by UPS or FedEx, ship Monday through Thursday only.  If you are returning samples by US Mail ship Monday through Friday only.  Make sure your package goes out same day with no signature requirement.

14 days is the maximum time a sample can be stored between collection and analysis.
